"During our time publishing, we have successfully planned and coordinated workshops, conventions, book tours, retreats, and more with organizations, individuals, and businesses not just for ourselves and the authors we work with, but on behalf of other communities as well. With your help, we'll be able to eliminate all the associated waste and massive carbon footprint our events currently generate."
JOHN EDWARD LAWSON
Founder
Up until now the fan convention experience has largely been regional, with certain celebrities and vendors confined to a limited area with the same familiar attendees at the same events, year after year.
Even so, many enthusiastic members of the fan community get left out of the process entirely. For instance: your buddies who lost their jobs or now have young children or took a position as a forest ranger 200 miles away from the nearest city.
And don't forget that favorite author who lives in a remote area, that reviewer who expanded your horizons before a car crash limited their public life, that instructor who inspired your heroes before aging out of traveling the convention circuit…these people and more still have so much to offer.
AllAccessCon is here to bring all potential audiences and content providers together in one virtual environment designed for ease of use.
For the first time, all members of the science fiction, fantasy, and horror communities and beyond — regardless of worldwide location, mobility, identity, or resources — will have regularly-occurring access to convention guests, vendors, keynote speeches, and networking opportunities with other fans and industry professionals through virtual events that function in the same way as in-person events.
You deserve access to pursue your interests in the arts, career advancement, and more, with the biggest crowd possible.
During his work as vice president of Diverse Writers and Artists of Speculative Fiction founder John Edward Lawson realized the necessity of removing barriers to entry for underrepresented groups, people without extra resources, those who typically experience harassment, and people whose sobriety is put at risk in the "party" atmosphere of conventions hosted in hotels with bars.
Bearing this in mind he began AllAccessCon with a successful crowdfunding campaign in November 2019, and has since been running beta tests with smaller groups of attendees — 100 or less for book launches, panel discussions, and workshops. Now the doors are opening to accommodate tens of thousands in a single event.
Our community has members who are not just underserved, they are often mistreated or left out entirely. When you support events through AllAccessCon you ensure audiences worldwide are part of the conversion, from the rural United States to the Azores to Egypt to New Zealand. Our goal is to strengthen the fan event scene by ensuring everyone is involved.
Our Code of Conduct is built around this philosophy of inclusion. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with our Code of Conduct prior to attending our events.
